Jessica Braverman, who goes by Jessie, is an award-winning architect licensed in the State of North Carolina, and the owner of Braverman Design. After eight years in commercial architecture, she started Braverman Design in 2020 to pursue her love of residential architecture. With backgrounds in Anthropology and Art, Jessie is passionate about creating casually classic designs centered around the family, that feel timeless and comfortable.

A District of Columbia native, Jessie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. She then briefly worked as a realtor and in interiors and furniture before pursuing her Master’s of Architecture at North Carolina State University’s School of Design. After graduating in 2012 and getting licensed, Jessie moved to Durham where she worked in commercial architecture doing everything from small interior upfits to large school student centers, and residential renovations on the side. She received multiple academic scholarships, honors, and awards for her art and architectural designs, and has been featured on the Modapalooza home tour.

Jessie has served as a board member on the Durham City-County Appearance Commission, the Tuscaloosa-Lakewood Neighborhood Association, and been both Fundraising Chair and Treasurer of the Friends of Lakewood Elementary PTA.

When she’s not designing, Jessie can be found doing Ninja Warrior obstacle racing, playing with her family, going on long dog walks, hanging with friends, and painting.
