Owner of Braverman Design & Registered Architect

Jessica Braverman, who goes by Jessie, is an award-winning architect and landscape designer licensed in the State of North Carolina, and the owner of Braverman Design. After eight years of working in commercial architecture, she started Braverman Design to pursue her love of residential architecture and landscape design. With backgrounds in Anthropology and Art, Jessie is passionate about creating casually classic designs centered around the family, that feel timeless and comfortable.

A District of Columbia native, Jessie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, with a minor in Art Studio, including modern and historic architecture courses. She then worked at the Kellogg Collection in Washington, DC as an interior sales and design associate before pursuing her Master’s of Architecture at North Carolina State University’s School of Design. Jessie moved to Durham, in 2013 where she worked most recently at Perkins and Will. Throughout her education and her commercial architecture experience, Jessie was awarded multiple academic scholarships, honors, and awards for her art and architecture design.

Jessie has served as a board member on the Durham City-County Appearance Commission and the Tuscaloosa-Lakewood Neighborhood Association. Currently Jessie serves on the Friends of Lakewood Elementary PTA as the Fundraising Committee’s Co-Chair.

When she’s not designing, Jessie can be found playing with her family, going on long dog walks, hanging with friends, crafting, and writing.

TOMMY DOG

Mischief Manager, Cat Skeptic, Seat Thief

Tommy is a 10 yo hound/lab mix adopted from Independent Animal Rescue. He loves treats, barking at the neighborhood animals, and sleeping on all the furniture. He provides much-needed exercise and encouragement.

POOH BEAR

Mischief Maker, Wanna-be Lap Dog

Pooh Bear is a 1 yo hound/shepherd mix adopted from Pips Rescue. He is our pandemic puppy and an adorable handful. His favorite pastimes are chewing on things he shouldn’t be, being underfoot, howling at cats, and antagonizing Tommy. He provides constant distractions from work-related activities.
